Landlord's comment:
"Lean out of the second floor windows of this light filled apartment and soak up the vibrant Latin Quarter street life ambiance from the bistros, cafes, bars and boutiques lining the street below. The nearby Sorbonne and multitude of students gives this area a lively joie de vivre and the street name pays homage to the Father of Modern philosophy, René Descartes, best remembered for his "I think therefore I am". The commemorative street plaque proclaims Ernest Hemmingway lived next door and the villagey atmosphere described in his novel A Moveable Feast has hardly changed over the years. The open market stalls towards the other end of rue Mouffetard are open Tuesday through Sunday late morning often to the joyful accompaniment of street musicians on the weekends.
Many amenities lie on your doorstep; supermarkets, boulangeries/ patisseries, chemist, post office, laundromat, a swimming pool (Jean Taris or Pontoise) and Velib pay-as-you-go cycles. Just a stroll away is the imposing Pantheon located on the crest of a hill with sweeping views overlooking the serene Luxembourg Gardens and further beyond the iconic Eiffel tower - from the hilltop after sunset you can witness the sparkling diamond light show of the tower every hour under a moonlit sky !
The apartment, tastefully decorated, exudes a warm atmosphere and retains its authentic charm with exposed stone walls and antique wooden beams modernised with double glazed windows to the front. It boasts a brand new slate grey shower room and the bedroom has a double bed with down duvet and feather pillows, plenty of hanging space and overlooks a tranquil, foliaged private courtyard. The living area is spacious with comfortable sofa (a sofa bed), wool blanket, silk pillows, leather armchair, extendable coffee table with extra folding chairs, flat screen TV, ipod/ music system and a writing desk.
We love staying in our Latin Quarter apartment and know you will love it too!"
