Located in the south-west of Paris on the left bank of the Seine river, the 15th, with nearly 240,000 inhabitants, is officially the most populous arrondissement in the capital. It was originally formed of the two ancient towns of Vaugirard and Grenelle (La Motte-Picquet) and has been part of the city of Paris since 1860.
